The Continuing Education E-Learning Project
Welcome to our interprofessional, continuing education (CE) e-learning project for collaborative mental health care. The purpose of the project was to increase the use of the CCMHI Education Toolkit by using e-learning techniques – teleseminars and webinars. The project's official name: “Strengthening Collaborative Education Using E-Learning Technologies: Creating a Knowledge Exchange Community of Learners and Educators to Improve the Mental Health of Canadians”.
Although the project is now over, we would like to maintain this training link on the CCMHI website to ensure you have access to our CE Program Archives, CE Resources and most importantly, our Facilitators' Tools.
We invite you to browse this website, bookmark it and return to learn about new e-learning opportunities, and share it with your colleagues and peers. Follow the links for more information and learn why this project was a success:
Project Funder & Leaders
The CE project was funded by the Canadian Council on Learning, Knowledge Exchange Program and led by 13 organizations.
Project and Outcomes
The project began in February 2007. Five Teleseminars and 3 Webinars were conducted between August-October 2007. The project wrapped up in November 2007. (Project Summary & Final Report)
One hundred and nine people registered for the Teleseminars and 105 registered for the Webinars. Four organizations accredited these e-learning seminars and nine others endorsed them. Overall, 40 participants received recognition of their continuing education participation with CE Credits! Regular project updates were published through monthly NewsBriefs along with a Summary Newsletter. Various session and facilitation materials were produced to aid in project implementation. You will find these materials under the Resources and Facilitators' Tools pages of this site.
Next Steps
A Knowledge Exchange Forum is one avenue being explored based on the needs assessment that was conducted with those who expressed an interested in joining a sharing community. New project funding is being sought to implement this initiative. As well, the possibility of holding additional e-learning sessions in 2008 is being explored. Stay tuned for more information.
